SU - Black Diamond

Again, I'm aware of the many interpretations of Black Diamond there are already. This is the version that applies to the fanfic collaboration between skeletonjon and I.

Not revealing much yet, however this is the matriarch Snowflake Obsidian reports to and kind of the lynch pin in the issues that arise during the collaboration. This is not an art work of Black Diamond, this IS Black Diamond. She's like a messy organisation of shadow fragments, the only solid thing about her is her gem at the center of it all.

The reason for this development relates to how Black Diamonds are made, they're synthetic gems.

The lore is that the Diamond matriarchy wanted to experiment if it was possible to create Diamonds in case one of them needed to be replaced quickly. Black Diamond is the result of such experimentation, a failed one at that. She still functions with the power of a Diamond but lacks a solid form. The Black Court is her domain and is the place where defective gems are sent whether it be from a mutation during their forming (i.e. gems with cristoballite in them) or gems who have deviated too far from their intended purpose (e.g. if Rose's Pearl was still on the homeworld she would be sent here to be retrained while maximising her newfound combat skills). In the shadows they act as the spies, assassins and saboteurs of the matriarchy. Although they are never openly recognised, most common Gems don't know of their existence and higher Gems think it's all an urban legend.
